For your safety and the safety of park staff, please do not attempt to access closed areas. This alert will be removed when the park reopens.
Elk Knob State Park has reopened for day use only.
All camping remains closed. Emergency access roads are also closed, so longer hikes in the backcountry are discouraged.
Most state parks in western North Carolina have reopened at least partially.
