River section closures
All mountain section trails are open. The Yadkin Islands, Horne Creek, and Bean Shoals Canal Trails in the river section are closed.
Open
Corridor Trail is open. Bean Shoals Access is closed for construction.
About the Park
Located in Surry and Yadkin counties 20 miles northwest of Winston-Salem, Pilot Mountain State Park centers around the iconic geologic knob that serves as a beacon, inviting outdoor enthusiasts to a vast array of activities. The park offers the gamut, from hiking and horseback riding to rock climbing and camping, with accesses on both the rugged terrain of the monadnock and the Yadkin River. The Mountains-to-Sea State Trail also traverses both park sections.

Gates are locked promptly at closing. There is no gate entry before or after hours, except in the case of a medical or law enforcement emergency. No vehicles other than those registered to campers may be left in the park overnight.
From December to February, open daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
From March to November, open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
