Start your year off with a guided hike at Stone Mountain State Park. Join a Ranger while we hike roughly 3 miles around Wolf Rock and Cedar Rock trails starting at the Lower Trailhead Parking Lot. Bring water and a snack as we will have some time to enjoy two different overlook views during the hike.

Join a Ranger at the Visitor Center to learn about what animals call Stone Mountain their home. 
December 24, 2025, 1pm - 2pm
Meet at the Upper Trailhead Parking Area for a guided hike with a Park Ranger to the summit of Stone Mountain. This hike has a strenuous dfficulty, please bring water and appropriate footwear. 
December 19, 2025, 2pm - 3pm
Join a Ranger at the Visitor Center/Park Office to put in a last-minute request to the North Pole. Discuss holiday traditions, make a few small winter crafts, and be merry & bright.

Join a Ranger at the Park Visitor Center to learn the history and traditions that bring us the holiday season that we celebrate today.

The N.C. Division of Parks and Recreation announced today that six division sites are celebrating their 50th anniversary as National Natural Landmarks (NNL) as designated by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Interior.
The N.C. Division of Parks and Recreation announced that Michael Wood is the new park superintendent at Stone Mountain State Park in Wilkes and Alleghany counties.
