Join a Park Ranger and make pinecone bird feeders for our feathered friends! We still have birds in the area during the winter, come to learn who they are, why they stay and what they do when it's cold. Then, you'll make a feeder for you to take home and hang outside as a holiday treat.
Venture along the trails to paint the river a Park Ranger. We will spend time by the cascades painting the Eno and before moseying up to the Piper-Cox House. We will be using watercolor pencils and river water to activate them. We have supplies but you are welcome to bring your own.
The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Division of Water Resources, in cooperation with Eno River State Park, the N.C. Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, City of Durham, Durham County, Town of Hillsborough and Orange County, will be treating the Eno River for hydrilla, an invasive aquatic plant, May 29 through Aug. 31.
