Mount Jefferson State Natural Area remains closed. Chimney Rock, Mount Mitchell, and South Mountains are closed long-term until further notice. Visit ncparks.gov/closures for more information on the status of all facilities.
Rendezvous Mtn Rd is approximately 1.4 miles, gravel surface, moderately steep and narrow. It is then paved once you enter the park. Vehicle access ends at the park office.
One hour program. Short hike with a discussion about trees, followed by decorating your own tree cookie which makes a great ornament. Call (336) 667-5072 to reserve a spot.
Join a Ranger to see examples of wildlife that live in the forest around Rendezvous Mtn. Kids will be able to look and feel tanned skins and animal skulls. Meet at Ranger office.
Join a Ranger at Rendezvous Mountain for a quiet sunrise view at the upper parking area. Bring your favorite morning coffee and enjoy the peacefulness of the valley below.
Join us at the park office for a Ranger led-one mile hike through the mountain’s hardwood forest. This program will last approx. one hour while we discuss Rendezvous Mtn history.
