Rendezvous Mountain
Location: Wilkes County, 30 miles east of Boone
You can find: Blue Ridge mountain and its hardwood forest habitat
Highlights: views of nearby mountains, such as Grandfather, Table Rock, and Hawksbill; Purlear Creek
Most state parks in western North Carolina have reopened at least partially.
Mount Jefferson State Natural Area remains closed. Chimney Rock, Mount Mitchell, and South Mountains are closed long-term until further notice. Visit ncparks.gov/closures for more information on the status of all facilities.
