Join us on Moore’s Knob at sunset as we look toward the southeast to watch the full moon rise gently above the horizon. Coined “Strawberry Moon” by the Native Americans due to this full moon rising right as it’s time to harvest strawberries. Will it be pink? Will it be golden? The moon will reach peak illumination at 9:07pm. This is a self-lead hike. Our Environmental Educator will meet you at the top where you will learn more about June Moons as we wait for the Strawberry Moon to rise. This program is suitable for all ages. RSVP to andra.dalton@ncparks.gov .
