This year, Fort Macon State Park is back to hosting one of the NC Science Festival's Statewide Star Party events! Join us and the Crystal Coast Stargazers at the beach access / bathhouse parking lot for this special stargazing event. There will be craft type activities for kids starting at 7, followed by guided stargazing and telescope viewing after dark. If you have a telescope fell free to bring it. No pets please. (*There will be one attempt at a rain date on Sat. April 5th if the sky is not clear on Friday the 4th.)
About the NC Science Festival
Founded in 2010, the North Carolina Science Festival is the first statewide science festival in the United States. Through a series of community-based events each April (hosted by schools, colleges, libraries, museums, parks, businesses, and other local organizations), the Festival celebrates the economic, educational, and cultural impacts of science in North Carolina. It is an initiative of the Morehead Planetarium and Science Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. For more information, please visit ncscifest.org.
The annual Statewide Star Party is made possible through the NC Space Grant.
