Facility: 11 Primitive campsites. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table.Location: At the Family Campground.Accommodates: Up to 6 people, each.Nearby Amenities: Pit toilets and drinking water.Available: Year-round.Reservations Required: No. Sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
A park ranger registers campers on-site near closing hour.Accessible: One site is accessible and can be reserved in advance.
Facility: 20 Primitive group campsites. Each site has a fire ring.Location: Various backcountry locations in six different areas.Accommodates: The number accommodated by each site depends on the area. Please check with the

Equestrian Facilities

Facility: 15 Equestrian campsites. Nine 5'x 10' and Twenty-four 10'x10' stalls are available.Location: At the Equestrian Campground.Accommodates: Up to 6 people, each. Since sites are intended for equestrian camping, there is a 1 horse
minimum per site.Nearby Amenities: Washhouse with hot showers and flush toilets.Available: Year-round.Reservations Required: Reservations must be made and payment must be received at least 10
days prior to camping. Accessible: Yes.

Picnic Shelters

Forms of Payment: Cash, checks, travelers checks. At this time, only Carolina Beach, Mount Mitchell
and Morrow Mountain State Parks accept Visa or Mastercard.
A $25 fee will be charged for all returned checks.
