Make advance reservations at state parks online or through our toll-free call center. Call 1-877-7-CAMP-NC (722-6762) or select a park from the dropdown box on the left to navigate to the reservations page for that park.
Serious plant pests can be introduced into our parks by campers who bring in firewood. To prevent this, many of our parks sell firewood. For campers who choose to bring in their own firewood, please use wood harvested from a source local to the park. Campers should
not bring firewood from outside of North Carolina.

Due to Flooding the following boat ramps are closed: JC Cooper at Satterwhite Point, Nutbush North and Nutbush South.
Due to the flooding, sites 37,38,39,40,41 at JC Cooper are closed and sites 51,52,53,54,55,56,57,59,61 at Nutbush are closed.
Be advised that Nutbush road bridge is under water. Satterwhite Point/J.C. Cooper is only accessible via I-85 exit 217 and Nutbush is only accessible via I-85 exit 214.

This 50,000-acre, man-made lake is a haven for water sports enthusiasts and landlubbers alike. The lake is situated in the northeast corner of the Piedmont region and lies in both Virginia and North Carolina. The recreation area's headquarters are located north of Henderson at Satterwhite Point. More than 800 miles of wooded shoreline provide access to a variety of fun-filled activities on the lake. Relax and enjoy water sports at any of the seven recreation areas operated by the NC Division of Parks and Recreation along this expansive reservoir.
