Serious plant pests can be introduced into our parks by campers who bring in firewood. To prevent this, many of our parks sell firewood. For campers who choose to bring in their own firewood, please use wood harvested from a source local to the park. Campers should not bring firewood from outside of North Carolina.

Hanging Rock needs a volunteer campground host during the March 15-April 30 time period. The campground host registers campers, provides park information, relays important campground information to park staff, sells fire wood, and assists with campground litter pick up. Hosts provided their own camping gear and the park provides a campsite with full hook ups. Call 336-593-8480 or e-mail hanging.rock@ncmail.net to inquire.
