Due to Hurricane Earl the four wheel drive beach will close at noon today in anticipation of high tide, which will be around 2:30 this afternoon, and many areas will be impassable. The park trail will also close at this time. The pedestrian beach and the park visitor center will remain open for now, but may close this afternoon as conditions worsen. All visitors must stay out of the water. Strong rip currents and 10 to 12 foot waves are already present and will remain until Friday afternoon.
